For the first day of Christmas my true love actually gave a copy of one of Parasole’s books to me. But there are no pear trees in it, so I pulled one from Federico Vinciolo’s 1594 _ Les secondes oeuvre et subtiles inventions de lingerie_.

Pears are actually my favorite fruit and one of my favorite motifs as well. My friend Marlene spent some time this summer and stitched this particular pattern for me to put on the front of a garden planning notebook. My garden spot is currently covered in snow, but I’m going to start putting my notebook together now and enjoying both dreaming of spring and the lovely gift of embroidery.
