I’ve got a friend looking at doing a version of this outfit for her husband, so I’ve been drooling over the fantastic embroidered shirt in Portrait of a Man in Red. https://www.rct.uk/collection/405752/portrait-of-a-man-in-red It uses swirling moresque designs like we see in Pellegrino.

The Met’s copy of Francesco Pellegrino is the 1546 _Livre de Moresque_ published by Hierosme de Gormont. It’s a republication of the 1530 _La Fleur de la Science de Pourtraicture_, with plates reordered and compressed. https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/351013
