Morning Modelbuch (1/8/2020)

I’m always intrigued by just how modern the fillings for squares can look. Sort of like Tinker-Toys. Part of it is the unusual symmetry combined with lines going off in different directions and picots giving a gear kind of look to some of the curves. The frames in _Ghirlanda di sei uaghi fiori scielti da piu famosi giardini d’Italia_ by Pietro Paolo Tozzi has some very fun ones. http://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/bpt6k9400650r

This 16th century border has some similar design. https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/212296
