Morning Modelbuch (6/1/2019)

I’m interested to see just how many patterns in portraits of royalty and nobility make it into the modelbucher. It’s sort of like seeing fashion designer’s collections filtering into ready to wear. Studio of Francis Clouet, Portrait of Henri II dated 1559, with sketches made possibly as early as 1547 by Clouet https://www.rct.uk/collection/403430/henry-ii-king-of-france-1519-1559

Pattern by Christoph Egenolff. This copy was published in 1593, but it is Lotz #20, originally published in 1564
