Morning Modelbuch (11/21/2018)

I know they’re intended as darned lace squares, but I always find square patterns like this useful. They turn out nice in any counted stitch for things like needle books, pincushions, and such. These four are from _La Pratique de l’Aiguille_ by Matthias Mignerak published in 1605. I also included some close ups of the title page because it has some useful tool pictures as part of the decoration. There is a weighted pillow with darned lace laced on it in progress. Diana and Pallas Athena hold slate frames, and putti play among distaffs and swifts. https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/354009
