Italian textile 1550-1600 wool and linen. Number 06.253 at the RISD Museum It’s a pretty exact version of a pattern from Ein New Kunstlich Modelbuch published by Peter Quentel in 1544. The edges of the star are softened to an 8 petal flower, but there are plenty of those too. The double frame of diamonds in dots and the 4 dots are the same.
