Morning Modelbuch (10/25/2018)
I don’t do bobbin lace and bobbin lace patterns are pretty much good for making bobbin lace so I haven’t spent a lot of time looking at the books that are strictly those patterns. I’m sorry for the oversight. If nothing else, knowing what period patterns look like helps in selecting modern laces to use when making reenactment clothes. The first bobbin lace book is also important just for being what it is: a book written by a woman (known only as R.M.) who says she’s been making lace for 12 years.
I flipped through Froschauer’s 1561 book and found some simple patterns that would make nice insertion stitches. And I’m a sucker for hearts so I included that as well.
