I’ve been playing with them for over a decade now and have links to 80 or so of them (available free online) listed on my blog at http://daughterofthebull.blogspot.com/p/modelbuch-list.html The patterns can be used for a little of everything. Most are set up for needlework but artists of all kinds are mentioned on the title pages and they are fun to play with. So, I figured I’d start sharing a bit of morning inspiration. First up is this page from A Schole-house For The Needle. Published by Richard Shorleyker in 1632, it’s one of the few specifically English modelbuchs. I love the little peapods!
