I participated in an online swap with some of the people in my historical reenactment group and was pointed to this sweet pillowcase as a result. 17th century Italian pillowcase in the Met, acc number 20.186.379 https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/221189

The little sprigs are similar to those in Shorleyker’s Schole-House for the Needle dated 1624, Lotz 155. There isn’t an easily accessible free copy of the book (there is a very nice republication that can be purchased, however) but several of the pages are available at BALaT (Belgian Art Links and Tools, the search engine for the Beligian Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage databases KIK-IRPA) http://balat.kikirpa.be/object/50008156 http://balat.kikirpa.be/results.php?linkthrough=VV&linkval=Shorleyker+Richard

Linen pillow stuffed with wool and embroidered in silk by Leslie Falzone. I added a lavender sachet inside and it now sits on my dresser.
