Morning Modelbuch (1/28/2020)
This early 17th century piece at the Met is such a beautiful lace on its own, but I also like that it shows some of the transition of lace styles into the 17th century. It has the exuberant floral that happens in Danieli’s designs of the 1630’s, but there a still some of the look of the earlier geometric patterns. It has a really interesting combination of techniques. Two related pieces, accession numbers 33.90.29 and 33.90.28 https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/197360 https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/222720
