It’s been mentioned releatedly that many of the embroidery patterns in the books are much older and turn up in Coptic textiles. I have tried to resist taking my research towards that direction since I don’t have a good grounding in the general history of that time and place and its clothing. Sometimes I can’t help it, however, and try to find out more.
