Morning Modelbuch (8/26/2019)
Sorry I missed a couple of posts. I went camping in an area without phone reception over the weekend.
Speaking of technology, tech made some changes to lace patterns as etching tools and varnishes improved and artisans made more detailed patterns. Bartolomeo Danieli’s work has a distinctive look and he published 5 books of patterns. The earliest (Lotz 144) is dated 1610. The others,148-151, were published from 1630 to 1641. His 1639 _Vari disegni di merletti_ (Lotz 149) is up at the Met. https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/688581
