Adding more reference books, here is the _The History of English Secular Embroidery_ by Margaret Jourdain published in 1912. There is some discussion of printed patterns for embroiderers put out in the Tudor and Stuart periods by Peter Stent and Schorleyker and John Taylor's The Needle's Excellency
