Morning Modelbuch (3/5/2019)

I got a small book yesterday, I guess it balances out with the giant one that showed up today. I mentioned Hieronymus Cock’s publication of a series of anonymous ornamental prints by “Master F” and linked to an article on the subject in this post https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=288214128515008&id=213910152612073

As part of all that, I found a 1931 facsimile of Cock’s 1550 _Moreskbok_. I haven’t found an online copy of the original yet, and the republication is under copyright in the US for 2 more years so I can’t scan it all. The moresque patterns show up over and over again in other books and are one of the major sources of inspiration for many of the other books of ornament. Flotner uses one as does Paganino and many others https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=uc1.c2526329;view=1up;seq=85;skin=mobile
