Merry Modelbuch! (Day 4)

I made a nice thick coaster using tapestry crochet, just perfect for the oversized mugs I prefer. This is a medium weight yarn, so I needed a charted design on the smaller side, so it didn’t become placemat size. Vinciolo’s _Les Secondes Oeuvres, et Subtiles Inventions De Lingerie_ has several that are just perfect. There are basically 3 different size blocks for lacis in the book set up for 21, 42, and 73 mesh. Obviously, the book has other patterns, but I’ve looked at the coordinating lacis patterns before with thoughts of making an afghan or curtains in tapestry or mosaic crochet. The small square worked up fast enough that I may revisit the idea and work on a blanket this year.
