It’s too close to the holidays to actually finish lace or embroidery but I want to do some modelbuch themed gifts. I decided to try some offbeat ideas. I tried making some shrink plastic charms.The plan is to turn them into needleminders and fridge magnets. I tried out using recycled Styrofoam from meat trays but it wasn’t as exacting as I’d hoped. The second one also came in contact with the element in my toaster oven (no, I don’t use it for food–just clay and other crafting.) Still, I think the idea has promise. Figure I’ll pick up some actual shrink plastic tomorrow and try again.
