This smallish Italian Corporal box measures about 8.5 inches (22 cm) square but is full of gorgeous detail in the rich embroidery, lace, and fringe. Held by the V&A, it is dated between 1560 and 1570. Accession number 5958-1859 https://collections.vam.ac.uk/item/O86329/corporal-box-unknown/
The embroidery pattern has some similarities ,(though simpler) to one in “Libbretto nouellamete composto per maestro Domenico da Sera.” (Lotz 69) dated 1532 https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/356952 The silver gilt bobbin lace has similarities to those in both Le Pompe and Neu Modelbuch, but isn’t an exact match to either.
