Today’s free book is Hinda M. Hands’ “Church Needlework: a workbook of practical instruction” published in 1907. There is a nice intro to preparing a slate frame, some gold work and silkwork stitches, a section on applique including counter changed inlay, and stitches for cutwork and other linen techniques.
