Morning Modelbuch (8/18/2020)
Pattern from Willem Vorsterman’s _Ce est ung tractat de la noble art de leguille ascavoir ouvraiges de spaigne_. Dated after 1527. I don’t link Vorsterman often as he just republished Quentel, but it does have it’s own Lotz number. Quentel is #3, Vorsterman is #4. https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/358594
An interesting manipulation of some of the motifs in a 17th century Italian or Spanish bed covering at the Hermitage. Linen with metallic threads in the a “two sided satin stitch” according to the museum. Inventory number ?-3735 https://www.hermitagemuseum.org/wps/portal/hermitage/digital-collection/11.+textiles+tapestry/263118
