The orientation of the lace in this painting is unusual, being large and vertical. I really like it, but am unsure of it since the style isn’t seen in other portraits. “Portrait of a lady, half-length, in a black dress with an embroidered bodice and a lace collar, with a pearl choker and head-dress,” Venetian School.
