Just a note to myself to do some digging into the designs for goldsmiths by Bernhard Zan.
Square panel with scrollwork, flowers, and fruit. Accession number:20.8.1at the Met. The Met has listings for the book of designs, but no pictures yet. The engraving has a lot in common with the designs used for sweet bags and bookbindings https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/422865
19th century copy at the V&A of the title page of a set of twelve pages with “12 / STICK . ZVM / VEERZAIGHEN . VER / FERTIGT. / BERNHART.ZAN / GOLDSHMID / GESEL.INN / NIERNBERG / 1580” museum number 29741A/123 http://m.vam.ac.uk/collections/item/O951779/dotted-manner-engraving-zan-bernhard/#
