I was able to be part of “Teaching Textiles” a symposium to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Helen Louise Allen Textile Collection at the University of Wisconsin-Madison today. It was a jam packed day full of fascinating presentations. There is another day full of outstanding speakers to go. Today’s program also included an opportunity to look at some of the textiles in the collection. They brought out 2 of their older pieces for me. While the designs aren’t particularly related to pattern books, it was still a lot of fun getting to get some up close looks and being able to take and share pictures.
