Morning Modelbuch (10/29/2019)
Portrait of a Lady with a Dog. Attributed by Roberto Longhi to an anonymous Italian painter referred to as Amico Friuliano del Dosso because the style is sort of a cross between Dosso Dossi’s Ferrera school and northern styles centered in the Friuli region. Dated around 1520. Currently in a private collection, it was auctioned in 2012.
The big blowzy heart pattern matches pretty well to the earliest patterns in Quentel and Schonesperger, but I’m linking Egenolff for some variety, just because the motif is such a common one.
