Figures done in tagliato on a piece dated between 1550-1600 held in the Cooper Hewitt. Accession Number 1962-50-35, Object ID 18444839. The bobbin lace edging is also lovely. I really love seeing more complete pieces as we see over and over the integration of multiple techniques and styles of lace and embroidery in a single finished object. http://cprhw.tt/o/2Cx1t/

There are patterns for similar figures in Matteo Pagano _Giardineto novo di punti tagliati et gropposi per exercitio & ornamento delle donne_ dated 1554. The patterns are obviously much more detailed than the extant piece.
