Morning Modelbuch (7/11/2019)
Someone asked if I knew of any other examples of linen printed with the intent to be embroidered. Here is a coif at the V&A, museum # T.21-1946. It is dated between 1600 and 1629. http://m.vam.ac.uk/item/O364616/coif-unknown/
The whimsical animals show up again, as do more naturalistic flowers as styles start to shift a bit in the 17th century. The court embroiderer (Pierre Vallet)and the royal gardener (Jean Robin,) of Henry III of France got together and published a really interesting pattern book in 1608 that has a nice selection of flowers, appearing like botanical prints _Le Jardin du Roi_. https://archive.org/details/mobot31753003039788
