Research is treasure hunting, but having a map is helpful. The thing I most appreciate about this small book is that it has measurements and descriptions. Littwitz was an importer and a collector. Much of his collection was donated to the Brooklyn Museum, the Carnegie, and other museums. Tracking them down is kind of fun, and having more info helps. The book itself has several pieces nicely illustrated. _Collection of antique laces and brocades of Max Littwitz_ originally published in 1915
