Morning Modelbuch (2/24/2019)
I ran into a source of patterns in use that I hadn’t considered previously. There is a style of ceramic that is popular in the 1530’s, and for a few decades after, that features beautiful women in fabulous dresses. It’s called Bella Donna style maiolica. Plenty of the plates have just sort of a sketchy impression, but others have really detailed patterning at collars, partlets and cuffs. This particular one at the V and A reminded me of some of the collar patterns from _Il Burato_ http://m.vam.ac.uk/collections/item/O161152/dish-unknown/
