Morning Modelbuch (2/17/2019)
Fleur-de-lis bobbin lace patterns is Parasole’s _Gemma Pretiosa della Virtuose Donne_ Similar to a needle lace border in the Victoria and Albert Museum, number 1143-1903 dated 1600-1650. There are plenty of fleurs in needlelace patterns, but this is less ornamented. I find the back and forth interpretations of the patterns between techniques really interesting. Seeing blackwork patterns done as lace, net work done in polychrome, it’s a lot of fun to see the ideas being played with. https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/662202 http://m.vam.ac.uk/item/O290703/border/
