It is interesting to me to see what a change in color does to the patterns, particularly since so many of them won’t be worked in black and white. There’s a facsimile of Schwarzenberger’s 1534 _Ain new Formbu?chlin_ published as _ Livres a dentelles & dessions d’ornements_by Emmanuel Bocher in 1882 that shows this really well.
