Morning Modelbuch (12/10/2018)

I’m giggling pretty loudly. You remember that 15th century Italian textile with the birds at the Cooper Hewitt I posted Saturday? The page I was looking at didn’t have the acquisition information on it and I didn’t cross-check it with the Met, primarily since it was a slightly earlier textile. Guess who the donor was? Yup, Marion Hague. Here’s the page with the rest of the textile all mounted up at the Met. https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/226412

She attached a different Vavassore page as well as a page with the eagle from Niccolo Zoppino’s 1532 _Gli universali di tutti e bei dissegni, raccami & moderni lavori quali un bello_ (Lotz 74.) There’s a copy in the Istituto Nazionale della Grafica. To search it pull up http://calcografica.ing.beniculturali.it there search for 12-00386888.
