Morning Modelbuch (12/2/2018)
This one is new one for me, although it’s been up at the Antique Pattern Library for quite awhile. I just didn’t notice it for what it was until now. It’s Lotz number 97 by Iseppo Foresto originally published in 1558 _ Bellezze de Ricami_. This is an 1891 reprint put out by Ernst Wasmuth and titled _Musterbuch Venetianischer Nadelarbeiten 1558_
It has some of my favorite style of patterns, counterchanged ones where the black area is the same as the white. The intent was they be cut from velvet or silk and then appliqued and edged with gold thread or silk cord.
