The Prato Textile Museum posted this photo of a 16th Century Italian pillow cover from their 2014 exhibition “True and Gentle Art,” on their Pinterest. They captioned it as being linen with silk embroidery, Holbein stitch, back stitch and whipping stitch. It reminded me of a page from Nicolo Zoppino’s 1537_Gli universali de i belli recami antichi_
