Morning Modelbuch (11/29/2018)
I’m staring at portraits by Bronzino of different men in black with white collars and revelling in the vast differences in the lace and embroidery. Tiny details that define them. Here’s the first I’m sharing: Portrait of a Young Man Holding a Statuette. It’s held in the Louvre http://cartelen.louvre.fr/cartelen/visite?srv=car_not_frame&idNotice=13985
The collar is very like patterns in Vecellio. I’m sharing a page from Georg Straub’s 1593 _New Modelbuch_ which is just a version of Vecellio with Straub’s name on the title page. https://www.e-rara.ch/zut/content/titleinfo/1922973
