Morning Modelbuch (7/4/2018)

More moresques. These aren’t labeled as being from a modelbuch, but I find them intriguing because they are exactly what Geminus and Flotner put in their designs. I think they may have just straight out cribbed the second design. But they’re earlier. The first modelbuch is dated 1524 and these are from an artist that was born in 1483 and died in 1522. Jean de Gourmont. We know that there were a lot of individual pages/designs printed before the idea of having an entire book dedicated to them happened, so it’s nice to find things that could have been those.
