Morning Modelbuch (6/15/2018)
I found these borders at the bottom of a closet, rather than with the rest of my lace. Now they’re put back with the rest of my collection until I figure out what to do with them. They’re strips rescued from a linen table runner that was pretty stained and beat up. Probably made around the 1930’s. As I’ve said before, there was a big interest in the old pattern books at the beginning of the 20th century/ end of the 19th and several of them were republished. This swan pattern can be found in Johann Seibmacher’s 1597 _Schon Nues Modelbuch_ It had an 1877 republication as _Hans Sibmachers Stick-und Spitzen Musterbuch_ You can download a PDF of that version here http://digital.slub-dresden.de/werkansicht/dlf/160353/1/
