Morning Modelbuch (5/29/2018)
Sometimes simple things get chosen for complex reasons. I finally settled on the bottom lazy S pattern for the embroidery on the camicia I’m working on. I like it should be good enough reason, but I (of course) have a big list of why.
1) It’s from the first dated modelbuch Schonsperger’s _Ein New Modelbuch_ from October 1524.
2) It’s a simple pattern so it should work up reasonably quickly and time constraints are becoming an issue.
3) The pattern is really similar to what’s embroidered on Eleanora di Toledo’s camicia in Bronzino’s portrait.
4) The sinuous form and S shape work with the Slytherin inspiration for this outfit.
(Update for the August repost: I didn’t get this embroidered, but it’s back in the queue.)
