Morning Modelbuch (8/05/2018)
Orpheus from Tagliente’s 1530 _Essamplio do Recammi_. Tagliente has some other pages in the book with small individual drawings of animals, but I like this one where there’s a pretense of a scene. Especially as there’s no attempt to scale the animals to one another. And they tend to show up that way when used with a lion next to an overly large bee and a moth the same size as a turtle. https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/659425
