Morning Modelbuch (4/23/2018)
This one is two (or 3) for the price of one. I couldn’t pick a favorite and that is the the nature of the book.) Pietro Tozzi’s 1604 _Ghirlende di sei uaghi fiori scielti de piu famosi giardini d’Italia_ has frames made up of lace patterns filled with calligraphy examples by Antonello Berdozi and Sebastiano Zanella.
One of the first scrolls I ever did for the SCA was done with the text inside a lace border chosen from a Modelbuch (before I found this book.) Once again proving that there aren’t that many new ideas.
